Health and safety
As a business and as parents ourselves, we know that the safety of you and your loved ones is paramount. Our team work hard at providing a safe service all year round by attending courses, testing equipment and keeping up to date with HSE and Environmental Health regulations.
Upon delivery, our team will secure inflatables, tents, etc. into the ground, any equipment that requires grass will be secured using 16 inch steel pegs which are hammered into the soil on a 45 degree angle. Mats will be placed for any bouncy castles, and RCD adaptors for any electronics. Please do not remove any equipment throughout your hire, if you need anything moving please inform our delivery team upon set up. We cannot be responsible for any equipment moved, rotated, lifted or misplaced during hire times. Mats must always be placed at the step of a bouncy castle, they are there for your safety when stepping on and off the inflatable. Please note they may shift and need pushing back as and when.
Any small electronics moved or unplugged (such as projectors, speakers, disco lights etc) are to only be done so upon advice from The Northern Entertainment Co. Any guides and handy packs will be sent via email where necessary to suit your specific hire service.

We make sure that all of our equipment is suitable for public hire. Every 12 months our inflatables and soft play are tested by RPII and PIPA tagged. This means that any inflatables we hire are safe, secure and have no faulty issues in which damage or injury could occur.
All electrical equipment is PAT tested and certified for use, stickers are displayed upon each electrical item.

• Children must not be left unsupervised during your hire.
• Please refrain from allowing animals on or inside ANY equipment.
• No smoking inside or around ANY of our hired equipment.
• Keep liquids away from all electrical equipment.
• Please ensure children and animals are kept indoors during set up
• Please ensure access is clear of obstructions, litter, dog mess etc. Our team are on a schedule for deliveries and delays will affect other bookings, serious delays may result in the drivers moving on to the next job and returning at a later time.
• If any equipment is broken, damaged, stolen or lost during the booking, a replacement fee will be charged to you the customer.
• No climbing on equipment including inflatable walls
• No bouncing on the bouncy castle step (knees and bottoms only when getting on and off the inflatable)
• No confetti, silly string, face paint, glow liquid on or around any inflatables. This will cause staining and you will be charged.

• Do not move any equipment once installed.

• Keep all fans and blowers clear, do not allow the fans to be covered, this will cause the inflatable to deflate.
• Please ensure your venue has adequate power for any electrical equipment. Please refer to the products description for requirements.
• Overnight hires must be in a secure private garden or venue.
• Do not turn off any inflatables in the rain.
• Switch off inflatables in winds and gusts reaching 24 mph.
• Bookings are not secure until a deposit is paid.
• Electrical equipment such as projectors and speakers must be brought inside after use and stored in the box provided.
• Any issues must be reported straight away, not at the end of your party.

We carry £5 million public liability insurance to ensure the standard of our service is safe for you and your families. Our team are not responsible for any children, supervision staff are there solely to ensure the equipment is being used properly. Parental supervision is required at all times.

It is the sole responsibility of the person booking (you) to ensure the safety of those using any equipment. Anyone using the equipment do so at their own risk. The Northern Entertainment Co. cannot be held responsible for anyone using the equipment during the hired times. Please see specific terms regarding your hire in separate attachment.

Weather
We hire equipment all year round, however the weather can affect our service. It is against the law for any inflatable to be set up in winds reaching or exceeding 24 MPH, this includes gusts.

Please be mindful when making an outdoor booking that the weather can be temperamental in Britain, we cannot guarantee an outdoor booking if the weather is unsafe. We have a list of indoor venues across the North East listed on our website which are suitable for most events. Please consider indoors where necessary especially in winter months.

Our website provides a weekly weather checker which is fully accessible. In the event of predicted strong winds, we will inform our customers as soon as we are able. We will offer to reschedule your hire for an alternative date or offer an alternative service.

Alternatively, if you have no other option,we can assess the area on the original date should you want to proceed.

Please note this is a risk, your booking will not be guaranteed until adequate safety measures are met and our team are comfortable with supplying equipment.

If you wish to proceed with an area assessment, full payment is required and any changes to your booking to be made beforehand. Please be aware that any monies paid is however non refundable, this includes if our team are unable to set up due to health and safety ie: high winds.We strongly advise the alternative options listed above ie: reschedule or change service/ venue. If you have decided to proceed with an area check and we cannot provide the service, this is through no fault of ours and will be non refundable due to preventing others from booking the equipment, paying staff wages, fuel and booking the time slot out.

Rain will not affect your delivery unless weather warnings are forecasted. We live in Britain so outdoor hires are always a risk with rain. We do have alternative services available for indoor hires should you want to change. We can also transfer your booking to another date providing you contact us in the appropriate time.
